BECAUSE HE LIVES

A few weeks back, Fly on the Wall commented on an article in the London Times suggesting that Elvis Presley Enterprises open a chain of Elvis-themed funeral parlors. Apparently the notion isn t as farfetched as we thought. U.K. resident Glyn Nedrud, wanting to ensure that his final send-off is perfect in every way, has already planned a very Elvis funeral. I don t want hymns, he was quoted as saying. Just Elvis songs. I think it will be a fitting way to go out.

In fact, the 42-year-old Nedrud is such a huge Elvis fan that he had his name legally changed to Elvis Presley. Upon the occasion of his name change, Nedrud told the London Mirror, Some people think I m crackers, but changing my name to Elvis is my tribute to the King of Rock-and-Roll. I m quite looking forward to being stopped by the police. The officer will be shocked to see the name Elvis Presley on my license, but he ll be able to tell everyone Elvis is alive, after all.
