Macbeth opens tonight at Sleeping Cat Studios on Marshall, a very interesting theater. There s an opening reception for works by Judith McWillie at CBU s Plough Library. There s an opening reception and awards presentation at Hnedak Bobo Group s offices on Front Street for their Craft Artists Juried Exhibition and Sale. Wayman Tisdale, along with violinist Michael Ward, pianist Joe McBride, and saxophonist Tom Braxton are at the New Daisy. Jazz icon Dave Brubeck is at Germantown Performing Arts Centre (the last time I saw him was in the 1970s at The Orpheum and he was fabulous and was joined by a very cool, barefoot harmonica player named Catfish or something). Barbara Blue and the Memphis Sound are at the Lounge tonight. The Subteens and Go Fast are at Young Avenue Deli. And, as always, The Chris Scott Band is at Poplar Lounge and I love them.
