Brandon Artiles, the hardworking former lead anchor for WATN-TV, Local 24, and the longtime host of the channel’s politically oriented Sunday talk show, “has accepted a new position as executive director of My Town Miracles of Collierville,” a 501©3 non-profit organization which seeks out and administers financial and situational aid to deserving individuals and families who need a hand up after some unavoidable misfortune.
Says Artiles, “We’re looking forward to meeting the needs of current ‘miracles’ with financial assistance and resources for personal growth. We’re also looking forward to expanding our outreach and exploring some new avenues where we can change lives and have an enduring impact.
My Town Miracles functions as a non-profit partner to Collierville-based My Town Movers and My Town Roofing. The press release announcing Artiles’ appointment provided the following examples of missions undertaken by the non-profit:
* Provided $5,000 for college scholarships to cancer patients staying at Ronald McDonald House of Memphis.
* Donated funds to assist a north Mississippi family with thousands of dollars in bills following the tragic death of a husband and father.
* Donated a car to a young woman in the Memphis Athletic Ministries program, so she could get to work to provide for herself and make her dream of going to college a reality.
