Newspapers across the region noted the celebratory events surrounding the U of M’s 90th birthday. One paper described the festivities as “an old-fashioned blowout, [where} people got the chance to bob for apples, be part of a pie-throwing contest, go rock climbing, and even kick field goals.” Clearly, the reporter didn’trealize he was actually observing mid-term exams.
