While there will unfortunately be no pudding wrestling this year, today s and tomorrow s WiffleStock VI outside at Zinnie s East a fund-raiser for Ronald McDonald House should still be a blast with a celebrity game/home run derby, food and drinks, a silent auction, and live music by The Greg Hisky Rhythm Section, The Jim Duckworth Action Figures, Walsh & Young, The Gabe & Amy Show, John Lowe Bow Lowe, Skinny White Chick, FreeWorld, Plywood Doghouse, Delta Joe Sanders, J.D. Highway, Claudia & Rico, and Cryin Shame. Today kicks off the two-day Sisterhood Showcase at Memphis Cook Convention Center, a big deal with all kinds of booths and celebrities and fashion shows. Today s Legacy Golf Tournament at The Links at Galloway is a fund-raiser for The National Civil Rights Museum and honors African-American golf legend (it continues tomorrow with a luncheon and a First Tee of Memphis Clinic at the Memphis Athletic Ministry Park at the Memphis Business Depot). Tonight s Memphis Music Showcase at The Orpheum features 14 musical acts and American Idol finalists Kimberly Locke and Trenyce. The Eagles are at The Pyramid. Cory Branan and Junior Brown are at B.B. King s Blues Club. Snowglobe, De Novo Dahl, and Justice Naczycz are at Young Avenue Deli. Down in Tunica, Olivia Newton-John is at the Horseshoe Casino, while comedian Jeff Foxworthy is at Sam s Town. And back here at home, tonight s big WEVL Summer Concert at the Hi-Tone features music by The Reigning Sound, the incredible Ben Vaughn backed by three Memphis musicians, and singer/songwriter Dan Montgomery. Should be quite a show.
