Every day more than 17,000 18-wheelers travel that 20-mile stretch of super-slab that runs through St. Francis County, Arkansas. That has given the locals an idea that could cre ate jobs and perhaps even provide development to the underdeveloped. The Memphis Business Journal re ports that plans are currently being made by the St. Francis Co. Transportation Commission to build the nation s largest truck stop on a 200-acre site that will park 1,000 big rigs. When completed, the truck driver s mall will provide truckers with everything they need: food, showers, lodging, retail, and fuel. According to the MBJ, one trucker has already described the proposed facility as Disney World for truckers. Truckers with an interest in E-ticket lot lizards may have to wait in line.
