Mad props are due to Commercial Appeal staff writer Jody Callahan for actually getting a gun dealer to admit an obvious, but hitherto, unmentionable. When confronted with statistics showing that a significant number of guns used in crimes nationwide can be traced back to a trio of Memphis gun dealers, David Krasner, owner of the American Loan Co. pawnshops, told Callahan, The more guns you sell, the more guns that are going to be used in crimes. Krasner went on to defend his profession saying, If Ford sells 10,000 vehicles and Chevrolet sells 100, more Fords are going to be used in crimes. Hence the popular expression among hardened criminals, Give me your money or I ll honk.
