University of Alabama football booster Logan Young said “Hell, no” when asked if he is changing his story now that Lynn Lang has pleaded guilty.
“Absolutely not,” said Young when asked if he had given money to Lang to send prized recruit Albert Means to Alabama.
“Not through anybody else,” Young said, when asked if he had given money to anyone else to give to Lang.
“No period,” Young said. “Nothing’s changed with me, but I’m going to be talking to my lawyer.”
Young said he might have more to say next week.
On Thursday in federal court in Memphis, Lang, former football coach at Trezevant High School, admitted receiving $150,000 from Young. He told U.S. Dist. Judge Bernice Donald, “I’m guilty of everything they said.”
Federal prosecutors now plan to use Lang to make their case against Young and former Alabama coaches Ivy Williams and Ronnie Cottrell.
Young has not been indicted.
Prosecutors said in court that Lang got a total of $150,000 in cash from Young over several months in payments under $10,000. Media reports have consistently put the total at $200,000.
