Brava, Kallen!

Times may be hard in the Big Easy but the show must go on. And Memphis’ own Kallen Esperian saw that it did last week as she starred as “Madama Butterfly” in the New Orleans Opera Association’s production of the Puccini classic. Performing at Tulane University’s McAlister Auditorium (the opera company’s temporary home until its permanent base is restored), the lovely soprano delighted the near-capacity crowd in her debut as the geisha girl Cio-Cio-San.
