An Australian travel company has already begun pitching a travel junket to Memphis for next August’s 30th anniversary of Elvis’ death.
The 13-day tour departs Sydney on August 7, 2007. The flight will make a stopover at Los Angeles, giving guests the opportunity to see Disneyland. The tour will continue onto Nashville, while stopping by the County Music Hall of Fame, Studio B where Elvis recorded many of his songs, as well as the famous Jack Daniels distillery in Lynchburg. Guests will also be treated to a dinner cruise on the General Jackson paddle steamer. They will then travel to Memphis by deluxe coach, passing Tupelo, Elviss Birthplace and Museum en route.
In Memphis, guests will tour Graceland, Sun Studio, Elviss school, Humes High School, The Thunderbird Lounge, Elvis Audubon Drive home, Forest Hill Cemetery, the Rock n Soul Museum, as well as the Stax Museum of American Soul Music. The highlight of the tour will follow, as guests join the moving Candlelight Vigil at Graceland in commemorating The King.
The cost? A mere $6,700. G’Day, Y’all. Go here for details.
