John Henson, host of TVGuide Channel’s Watch This, managed to insult the entire state of Mississippi.
According to a story in the Jackson, Mississippi, daily, The Clarion Ledger, while talking about an episode of Extreme Makeover following a Mississippi family moving from a dilapidated home into a new one, Henson commented that all homes in Mississippi are dilapidated.
When contacted by the paper, Henson said, “We’re comedians. We make jokes. And I made a comment about homes in Mississippi being dilapidated, and immediately followed that up by stating that that is in fact a stereotype that is not true. Then used that as a springboard to be self-deprecating.”
