Former State senator Bowers was indicted by a state Grand Jury last week for reckless driving involving a car accident in August of last year.

Previously, Bowers was charged with a DUI in the incident, but those charges were dismissed when toxicology test results failed to prove a sufficient amount of drugs present in Bowers’ system.

The incident stems from an accident in which Bowers side-swiped a UPS truck on Interstate-40 near the Hollywood exit.

A reckless driving charge, a Class B misdemeanor, carries a maximum six-month sentence and a $500 fine. A date has not yet been set for arraignment.
