According to the study, violent crime surged nearly 20 percent there from 2004 to last year, when the rate of such crimes rose much faster in the Midwest than in the rest of nation, according to FBI figures released in June.
Yep, the home of the World Champion Cardinals and that big ol’ croquet wicket on the river is Number One.
So how’d we do here in the Bluff City? Well, we’re Number 13, behind Detroit, Birmingham, Baltimore, and some other losers. We’ve got a lot of ground to make up, that much is obvious.
