The undefeated U of M women’s soccer team will open NCAA tournament play at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex this Saturday night. The Tigers (21-0-1) will face UT-Martin in the first round. The Skyhawks (14-6-2) are champions of the Ohio Valley Conference.
Memphis is seeded fourth in its region of the 64-team field. Seeded ahead of them are Florida State (1), Virginia (2), and Texas A & M (3). Should the Tigers win their opener, they’d face the winner of Louisville and Dayton in the second round.
The other number-one seeds in the field are Stanford, Duke, and Wake Forest.
Despite having won five straight Conference USA tournament championships, the U of M is looking for its first victory in the NCAA tournament.
