Rising junior Shaq Goodwin will likely become the 50th Memphis Tiger to score 1,000 points in his college career. (He’ll enter the 2014-15 season having scored 657.) Who were the 10th, 20th, 30th, and 40th Tigers to join this hallowed club?
• 10th — Larry Finch on February 19, 1972, in a win over Saint Louis at the Mid-South Coliseum. Finch’s teammate Don Holcomb also scored his 1,000th point in the same game.
• 20th — Bobby Parks on March 11, 1983, against Florida State in the Metro Conference Tournament.
• 30th — Billy Smith on March 6, 1993, in a loss at Cincinnati.
• 40th — Rodney Carney on February 2, 2005, during his junior season (a win over East Carolina at FedExForum). Carney went on to score 1,901 points, third in Tiger history behind only Keith Lee (2,408) and Elliot Perry (2,209).
