Facebook tips helped Shelby County Sheriff’s Office [SCSO] detectives arrest a husband-and-wife team of shoplifters Friday, a week after their theft binge on Black Friday.
Brown and Wendy Rodgers were arrested Friday on charges of theft of property, according to the SCSO Facebook page. The Sheriff’s Office posted pictures from surveillance video of the pair to its Facebook page on Wednesday.
“Within four minutes we began receiving tips as to who these individuals were,” SCSO said in its post on Friday. “Our (Area Law Enforcement & Retailers Team) detectives located both suspects today and recovered thousands of dollars in stolen goods.”
In all, the pair had stolen more than $3,000 in electronics.
