Back in 2000, legendary duo 8Ball & MJG released Memphis Under World, a collection of rare tracks from them, along with several cuts from other artists like Three 6 Mafia and DJ Zirk.
My favorite song off the project is “Playas Dream,” which showcases 8Ball rhyming about an Orange Mound have-not who immerses himself in the drug game to generate income. His illicit success brings forth popularity, jealously, as well as a life-threatening situation.
