Memphis Tiger Trivia (answer)

Tiger senior Shaq Goodwin will enter the 2015-16 season needing just 44 points to become the 50th member of the program’s 1,000-point club. Last season, no Memphis player scored his 1,000th career point. When was the last time the U of M went two consecutive seasons without a player joining this exclusive scorer’s club?

No Tiger joined the 1,000-point club during the 1996-97 or 1997-98 seasons. Lorenzen Wright scored his 1,000th point late in his sophomore (and final) season with Memphis, on March 8, 1996. The next Tiger to reach 1,000 points, ironically, also needed just two seasons to do so: Omar Sneed (February 13, 1999).
