A Track From Cowboy Jack Clement’s Last Album

No Depression magazine has posted a track from a new album by the late Cowboy Jack Clement. Clement attended Memphis State University and went on to work for Sam Phillips at Sun, where he recorded Jerry Lee Lewis’ debut hit, “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On.” He wrote a boatload of songs for Sun artists and later moved to Nashville. Clement contributed to the country songbook with songs for Elvis, Jim Reeves, Dolly Parton, and Johnny Cash. His influence was tremendous as he served as mentor to the many artists he produced. Clement died in 2013. For Once and For All will be available in July from IRS Nashville.
