African American Gay Pride Events

The annual Memphis Black Pride, an African American LGBT celebration, kicks off on Thursday, June 14th and runs through Sunday, June 17th with multiple events scheduled at the Holiday Inn Select on Democrat Road and at the Venue Entertainment Complex at 2514 Mt. Moriah.

On Thursday, the event kicks off with a launch party at the Venue featuring an exotic male and female dance revue featuring the Men of Flavaworks. That party starts at 10 p.m.

On Friday, there’s a “Cosmic Mix and Mingle” at the Holiday Inn Select from 4 to 8 p.m., followed by a wet tee-shirt contest at the Venue at 10 p.m. There’s also an “I Love My Ladies” party at 10 p.m. at the host hotel.

On Saturday, there’s a pool party at the Holiday Inn Select from 4 to 8 p.m., followed by “The Big Bang: A Star-Studded Show” hosted by Coco Labelle Thomas and Otis Mack at the Venue at 10 p.m.

The festivities wrap up on Sunday with a worship service at the Holiday Inn Select at noon, a family fun day at Chickasaw Heritage Park from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and an “all white” farewell party at the Venue at 10 p.m. The Venue party goes on into the night with “The Celestial Mini Ball” starting there at 1:30 a.m.
