The B Concourse at Memphis International Airport will close at the end of March as airport officials advance their $214 million plan to modernize the airport.
Airport officials have been planning to update the airport for years. The project will give the airport a new look and will consolidate all passenger traffic to one concourse, a move to right-size the airport after Delta closed its hub here in 2013.

All passenger gates, restaurants, retailers, and more will move to the airport’s A and C Concourses in March. The timeline will allow airlines to better manage the spring break travel season.
Once B Concourse is closed, work will begin to transform it into a modern airport terminal with high ceilings, wider corridors, more natural light, moving sidewalks and more. Airport officials said they expect B Concourse to be open by 2021.

New food and beverage options will open in the A and C Concourses, as more foot traffic is expected there. A new Starbucks and Urban Market have opened near the B checkpoint. A new Cinnabon Baked to Go has opened on A.
A Concourse will also get a Lenny’s Subs (relocated from B) and a new Italian restaurant called Torn Basil. A Blue Moon kiosk bar will be added in the C Concourse.
No local tax dollars will be used to fund the modernization project.
