ART, CRAP…

And the ability to know the difference. Artist Wade Hoffer, whose work is currently on display at the Lisa Kurts Gallery, paints dreamy landscapes that would make a nice background for the Serenity Prayer. Recently in the CA the artist modestly commented on his own work saying, among other things, many other things: My task is to steer away from the recalcitrance of reality, its sullen and resentful nature. I seek a sublime level of concentration and reduction, attempting a clear alternative to the velocity of modern life. I wish for my work to stay with someone as a memory of something that is faint, oblique and intangible. You know, like that time when Uncle Bill touched you down there. Right before he had to go away? Remember?
