According to a recent AP story, Memphis two Tyson bouts have put an unflattering national spotlight on Tennessee s lax boxing regulations. Fourteen of the 18 boxers who fought at The Pyramid on the night of the Tyson-Etienne bout received state boxing licenses on the day of the fight, and in light of this information the Tennessee Boxing Commission has declared Tennessee a dumping ground for shady promoters and unprepared fighters and has moved to tighten its regulations. Forget about Tyson, Etienne, and Lennox Lewis. From this day forward, Tennessee will be a haven for shady promoters and unknown fighters.
