The Blues Music Awards start at 5:30 p.m. this evening at Cook Convention Center with Watermelon Slim, Janiva Magness, and Magic Slim among the leading nominees.
On the local front, the Best New Artist Debut category will be compelling, with three of five nominees — Eden Brent, Cedric Burnside & Lightnin’ Malcolm, and Delta HIghway having strong Mid-South ties.
