South Main is a burgeoning hotspot for boutiques, which is why you may have missed the opening of Everleah’s a few months ago. Today, while out enjoying this fine first day of spring, I spotted the lovely Peyton, who ushered me in for a quick tour.
Before we head in, a word about those shoes: Peyton was wearing a pair of Kimchi Blue Mary Jane wedges I had been eying (but which slipped through my fingers like so many sold-out styles) this past winter at Urban Outfitters. She transitions these suede beauties into spring wear with a mini dress and light sweater. Simple, yes. But also effortlessly stylish.
On to the boutique! Everleah’s is owned by none other than Cynthia Grawemeyer, co-owner of Rizzo’s Diner around the corner and the soon to come Grawemeyer’s Deli next door.
One of the things you’ll notice about Everleah’s is how affordable their clothes are. “Nothing over $100,” Peyton tells me, and their Facebook page says the same. Chelsea Crew — one of my favorite brands of trendy shoes within my price range — lines the shelves. (The even better news? Everleah’s has its stock of Chelsea Crew’s winter line on sale.)
I also spied this dapper short and blazer set and a pretty lace number just in time for warmer Trolley Nights on South Main.
So what began as a painful reminder of a pair of shoes I never bought at Urban Outfitters became the discovery of a local alternative to the U.O. monopoly. Welcome to the neighborhood, Everleah’s.
