Hello From All of Us Here at “Fly on the Wall”

When Fly on the Wall launched in the MEMPHIS FLYER in 1996 it featured senior editor Jackson Baker— freshly returned from the national political conventions— demonstrating a hot new dance craze called the Macarena.

Flies get into shit. They can’t help it. Getting into shit is in their nature. And that, boys and girls, is pretty much everything you’ll ever need to know about this blog.

Of course, if you really want the backstory, as some do, there’s always THIS. And if you want the whole story, as many will, THIS is it, more or less.

Now, if you’ve read all of that, and you still want to know what typing this post feels like for the principal voice of a blog that has been unnaturally trapped inside a little gray strip of newsprint, and forced to pretend it was a column for 17-years, I’ll tell you. So, that’s really all I’ve got for now. It’s not a very splashy start, I know. Just a simple hello from me and the Fly-Team (AKA The Wiseguys improv comedy troupe). You’ll get to meet all of those guys individually, as they chime in.
