Charlie Brown, an Atlanta-based drag queen and comic, will join Alexis Matteo from Ru Paul’s Drag Race this weekend to benefit Mid-South Spay and Neuter Services. The show is scheduled for Saturday night (August 6th) from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Brown has been featured in HBO’s Dragtime and has appeared in venues across the country since the 1970s. For 12 years, he held down a regular gig with the “Charlie Brown Cabaret” at Backstreet Club in Atlanta. Brown considers himself a female impersonator, and when he’s not working in fabulous gowns and flashy jewelry, he appears as a 6’1″ bald man named Charles Dillard.
Matteo hails from Puerto Rico and currently resides in Orlando, Florida. She was a dancer for Walt Disney World before being cast in VH-1’s Ru Paul’s Drag Race. After the Spectrum performance, Matteo will also perform at Crossroads at 12:30 a.m.
