Flyer music and film editor Chris Herrington won first place among the nation’s alternative newsweeklies for Music Reporting and Criticism for 2011.
Herrington’s award was announced at last week’s Association of Alternative Newsweeklies annual convention in New Orleans. The Flyer competes in the “over 50,000 circulation” category against heavyweights such as the Village Voice, L.A. Weekly, and other much larger papers. Our congrats to Chris, who is certainly the only music writer who also wins awards for his NBA coverage.
