Cohen, Lowery Lead Unity Rally for Obama, Clinton Delegates

‘Everything that Rises Must Converge’ – That vintage Flannery O’Connor title might well have been invoked to describe a gathering of the twain Saturday as delegates pledged to both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton came together to unify behind presumptive Democratic nominee Obama. The meeting was led by 9th District congressman and Obama super-delegate Steve Cohen and city councilman Myron Lowery, a Clinton super-delegate. (Both are shown speaking at later political gathering on Saturday.)

‘Everything that Rises Must Converge’ – That vintage Flannery O’Connor title might well have been invoked to describe a gathering of the twain Saturday as delegates pledged to both Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton came together to unify behind presumptive Democratic nominee Obama. The meeting, at the Union Avenue campaign headquarters of 9th District congressman and Obama super-delegate Steve Cohen, was led by Cohen and city councilman Myron Lowery, a Clinton super-delegate.

(Cohen and Lowery are shown making courtesy appearances at a later rally for legislative candidate Jennings Bernard; neither made an endorsement as such in Bernard’s race against interim incumbent Karen Camper.)

Other delegates to this summer’s Democratic National Convention who gathered for the unity meeting at Cohen headquarters were Obama delegates Cherry Davis, Eddie Neal, and Janis Fullilove and Clinton delegates Henry Hooper, Betsy Reed, and David Upton.
