The ongoing saga of the bid by Duke University alumni Brian Davis and Christian Laettner to purchase the NBA Memphis Grizzlies keeps getting juicier — and weirder. While they haven’t been able to show Griz owner Michael Heisley the money to close the deal for the Griz, they apparently have come up with enough pocket change to buy a Major League Soccer franchise.
