Flyer editor and sportswriter Dennis freeland was the portrait of dedication. He suffered his first stroke in his office on a Tuesday. We were on deadline and he didn’t want to go to the doctor until the Flyer had been put to bed. Of course he was finally convinced otherwise. over the next several months he continued to work as our Web editor, often posting stories from a hospital bed. According to his sister Evonne, Dennis remained a wry sorts dcommentator until the very end. Thank you, Dennis, for every thing you did for all of us. Were it not for your tremendous faith (or, more likely, a momentary lapse of reason) this pesky Fly writer would still be asking people, “Would you like to try one of our Extra-Value Meals?”
