Four New Deaths Reported Wednesday

Shelby County’s positive rate for COVID-19 ticked up slightly Wednesday to 7.6 percent from Tuesday’s rate of 6 percent. The figure is above the county’s overall average rate of about 6.8 percent and below the 10 percent figure sought by health officials here.

The Shelby County Health Department reported 1,724 tests were given Wednesday. Of those, 132 were positive. The total number of COVID-19 cases here stands at 5,544. The department also reported four deaths Wednesday. The death toll is now 120 in Shelby County.
