Lots of art openings tonight. They are at Gallery 203 at the U of M for work by the Memphis A.R.T.S. Group; David Lusk Gallery for work by Tad Lauritzen Wright; Memphis College of Art for work by a group of six students; Midtown Galleries for work by Rose Harrington Brown, Erle Schuyler, and Deborah Witt; Midtown Artist Market Gallery for work by Jen Winfrey and Debra Ferguson; and Republic Coffee House for work by Michael Warren. There’s also an art auction and VIP reception ($25) tonight at Delta Axis Power House, with work by some 10 artists and live music by the Roy Brewer Trio. The New Moon Theatre Company production of Franz Kafka’s The Castle opens at TheatreWorks tonight. Michael McDonald is rescheduled to play at tonight’s Live at the Garden Concert Series at Memphis Botanic Garden. Peter Hyrka & The Gypsy Hombres are at the Center for Southern Folklore tonight. Stockholm Syndrome is at Newby’s. As always, The Chris Scott Band is at Poplar Lounge. Last but certainly not least, you can register to vote tonight at MÇlange’s “Sleepover” featuring The Memphis Feel-Harmonic DJ Symphony Orchestra with I-Witnesse, Mark DuWellington, Carlos Esquire, Editseasy Da Breezy, and The Godfrey’s.
