At Playhouse on the Square, it s opening night of Bat Boy: The Musical, the tale of a half-bat/half-boy in a small town in West Virginia. There s an opening reception tonight at D Edge Art & Unique Treasures for an exhibit of paintings by N.J. Woods, with live music by saxophonist W.J. Bassa. There s a concert by Edwin McCain tonight at The Peabody, courtesy of FM 107.5 The Pig. There s a Scott Sudbury CD-Release Party at the New Daisy. Sean Costello is at The Lounge. Down in Tunica, Crystal Gayle is at the Gold Strike Casino, while The Doobie Brothers are over at Sam s Town. And back here at home, there s a Rock N Roll Fashion Show at the Hi-Tone, featuring the fashions of local designers Missy Valentine, Nick Ray, Amanda Pelgram, and Luke Hall, with live music by Mr. Quintron, The Detonations, and The Pelicans. And, as always, The Chris Scott Band is at Poplar Lounge.
