The highly anticipated Frost Bake Shop opened in the Laurelwood Shopping Center on Thursday.
Frost, a small but bright shop located in a corner space next to James Davis, is the retail off-shoot of All American Sweets. Bill Kloos Jr. opened the Bartlett-based bakery All American Sweets in 2004 with his parents. The bakery provides desserts to a number of local restaurants, and its coconut cake and strawberry cake (which includes a pound of fresh strawberries) are widely lauded. But, All American Sweets isn’t a drop-in-and-leave-with-a-dozen-cupcakes sort of place. Frost is.

Frost offers a number of desserts: Layer cakes ranging from the Orange Dream and caramel to the coconut and red velvet. Cheesecakes include key lime and turtle. There is the Gooey Butter Cake as well as the Mississippi Mud brownies. Pies featured are banana cream, chocolate silk, key lime, and pecan. There are cookies, too: lemon crisp, chocolate chip with pecan, crackly ginger, and more.
Specialty and wedding cakes can be ordered in advance.
Cakes, cheesecakes, pies can be ordered whole or by the slice; cookies and cupcakes by the dozen or individually. Prices range from $38 for a whole cake to $1.25 for a cookie.
They also offer what they’re calling “Frost Favorites,” cakes ready to be decorated at a moment’s notice for those last-minute special occasion gatherings. And while All American Cakes will still provide cakes to area restaurants, there will be two cakes, Orange Dream cake and lemon raspberry, available at Frost exclusively.
Frost will have seating for about 20, so customers can eat their treat on-site with a cup of coffee or other beverage.

Frost Bake Shop is open Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
