Gingerbread Dream at the Memphis Botanic Garden

more.jpg

This afternoon, I went to the Memphis Botanic Garden just as volunteers were putting the finishing touches on “Gingerbread Dream.”

The exhibit opens Thursday and features a wild array of structures comprised of gingerbread, icing, candy, cereal, and cookies. It was designed by architect John Pruett and inspired by Gaudi and Dr. Seuss, which means it’s brilliantly elaborate. The houses are “leased” by area businesses with funds going to Camp Good Grief, a non-profit helping kids cope with losing a loved one.
