Hearings Set for Public Input on Overton Park

Overton Park Conservancy

Consultants will hear from the public about parking and traffic issues in and around Overton Park during the first of two public hearings on the matter next month.

Last week the Overton Park Conservancy (OPC) announced it had selected Looney Ricks Kiss (LRK), Alta Planning + Design, and Kimley-Horn and Associates for a traffic and parking study aimed at calming car-related issues at the popular Midtown park.

Those consultants will first meet the public at the Brook Museum of Art Auditorium on Tuesday, Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. The consultants will return in a little more than two weeks after that to present a menu of design concepts to the public at the Brooks on Thursday, Feb. 18 at 6 p.m.

“The park and its cultural institutions belong to the people of Memphis, and your voice is a valuable part of shaping the future of the park,” read a note about the meetings from the OPC.

More information on the meetings, the process, and the consultants can be found here.
