According to a recent press release from Tunica, a long-expected visit from the cartoon character Popeye has been postponed. The legendary brawler was scheduled to make “live” appearances at Sheraton Casino on January 25th, Bally’s Casino on the 26th, and the Grand Casino on the 27th. When questioned as to why he would not be appearing, Popeye, visibly upset, announced, “Skidamee, skoodamee, skug-ug-ug-ug-ug.” In spite of Popeye’s scathing comments, casino officials claim that the sailorman’s contract demanding 50,000 cans of imported Italian spinach be placed in his dressing room has nothing to do with the delay.
