An inmate walked off a work crew detail near south Memphis Monday and police are asking for help finding him.
Bobby Lee Jackson, 26, was working at Drexel Chemical Monday morning, part of a work release detail. After noon, a supervisor saw Jackson walk away from the building and join a woman wearing a black jacket, who have Jackson a gray hoodie sweatshirt. The two were last seen walking north on Third Street.
Law enforcement officers are searching for Jackson but has asked that anyone with information about his whereabouts contact Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2274).
Jackson is African American, is 5’9”, weighs 165 pounds, and has short black hair, according to officials. A tattoo on his left arm reads, “Bobby Like Father Like Son.” The tattoo on his right arm reads, “Like Son.”
Jackson is serving a three-year sentence for aggravated burglary. He was part of an eight-man crew assigned to the chemical plant.
