Local Trends — Introducing the Ellen Anchor Brand

Alexandra Nicole‘s first designer line Ellen Anchor captures the spirit of her grandparents Ellen and William, the line’s namesakes. Since Alexandra’s childhood, her grandmother Ellen had been described as William’s rock and he as her anchor. They still stand as models of strength to her family. This strength is what the brand signifies in the line’s quality and enduring style.

I got a first-hand look at Ellen Anchor’s first product —a reversible tank — during a recent photo shoot with local photographer Amanda Hill, AM Photography.

Both versatile and classy, this reversible tank might easily become an instant staple to every woman’s wardrobe. As a personal stylist and owner of two women’s boutiques, Alexandra gained an inside perspective on the clothing market. The concept of the reversible tank offers a simple solution to everyday dressing – a scoop neck on one side and a V-neck on the other. Also unlike many basic tanks out there, the length of the bodice and quality fabric will act as a control top. With its flattering shape, the tank can be styled and layered for a variety of looks.

The reversible tank can be ordered through www.ellenanchor.com or purchased at local retailers The Ivory Closet, The Attic, and Cardio Barre in Overton Square. They are $22 each in 5 available colors. One size fits most.

Special thanks to Amanda Hill, who specializes in pin-up and boudoir photography. She has also photographed many of the look book photos for The Ivory Closet and The Attic. Her photography studio AM Photography has a fairly new home in the Broad Avenue Arts District.
