McCain First Candidate to Arrive in Memphis for MLK Observances

When his JetBlue chartered flight set down at Wilson Air on Thursday afternoon, Republican John McCain became the first presidential candidate to arrive in Memphis for observances Friday commemorating the life and mission of Dr. Martin Luther King. Democrat Hillary Clinton was scheduled to be arriving almost simultaneously, but no word yet about a drop-in from Barack Obama….

When his JetBlue chartered flight set down at Wilson Air on Thursday afternoon, Arizona Senator John McCain became the first presidential candidate to arrive in Memphis for observances Friday commemorating the life and mission of Dr. Martin Luther King.

McCain is the Republican nominee-designate for president. Senator Hillary Clinton is also scheduled to be in Memphis for MLK activities on Friday. So far there is no indication as to whether her rival for the Democratic nomination, Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, intends to be here.
