The Sacramento Bee sent a reporter to Memphis and Indianapolis to evaluate the economic and social impact of those cities’ NBA arenas. Sacramento is in the midst of a civic debate over whether to grant the owners of the Sacramento Kings public money to finance the building of a new arena. Read it all here. (The only questionable part of the story is the claim that “150 acres” adjacent to the FedExForum were going to be developed.) One hundred and fifty acres!!!? Are they talking about razing Midtown?
