Last week’s NBA draft was the third in a row without a former Memphis Tiger selected. Since 1970, there has only been one drought as long. When was it, and who was the Tiger finally selected to end the dry spell?
No Tiger was selected for four four years, from the 1998 draft through 2001. (Cedric Henderson was chosen by Cleveland in the second round in 1997.) In 2002, Dajuan Wagner was chosen with the sixth pick by the Cavaliers after playing a single season with Memphis (and leading the Tigers to the NIT championship).
