“The EMDP is about celebrating local designers and their individuality. Seeing how different each collection is shows how much Memphis has to offer in this area. These designers have worked very hard on their collections and they’ve all been executed beautifully,” says MFW Director Abby Phillips.

Last September, Memphis Fashion Week kicked off the Emerging Memphis Designer Project for the second year offering local designers an opportunity to show their work to a wider audience and possibly launch their fashion career. Out of over 30 submissions, these 15 designers were selected to create looks specifically for Memphis Fashion Week. On Saturday, March 29, these emerging designers will present their custom collection. For most of them, it will be the first time on any runway.
