Music Video Monday: The Wealthy West

Music Video Monday is multiplying.

The Wealthy West is the dream pop incarnation of Memphis musician Brandon Kinder. Director Jonathan Thomason created this striking video for “Wild Eyes” from the album The Right Regrets.

“The song is about losing a friend, an important friend, a best friend,” says Kinder. “He was the kind of guy that lived life in a way that we’re all a little jealous of. He moved to NYC to pursue his many dreams. One of those dreams was to be on stage, dancing and singing with the greats. We decided to use vintage footage of people dancing, as a way to pay tribute to that. Not only would these fuzzy, black and white dancers look cool sweeping across the screen as I sang, but they would also be a quiet nod to my friend. Thanks so much to Jonathan Thomason for all the help shoot/directing/editing the thing together. I had a tiny idea for a video with three of me and some old footage, and he helped really bring it to life!”
