Getting a Lyft or Uber home from the airport? There’s a new pickup spot.
Starting March 1, drivers for the ride sharing services will be found outside the Concourse A, B, and C ticketing lobby exits on the outer commercial drive at Memphis internaitonal Airport.
“This change will result in a more convenient process for passengers doing business with Uber and Lyft,” said Scott Brockman, president and CEO of the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority. “We will continue to work with all of our ground transportation partners to enhance this part of the travel experience.”
Airport officials said the change will reduce traffic congestion at the baggage level, and make for a quicker, more-efficient process for riders and drivers. The new pickup area features a covered waiting area outside the B ticketing area for use in bad weather.
