The grapevine has it that local Democratic figures have persuaded presidential candidate Barack Obama to make at least one public appearance in Memphis — and possibly more — on the weekend of September 26-28, coinciding with Obama’s televised debate with the GOP’s John McCain at Ole Miss on Friday, September 26.
No word as yet on specific places or dates or whether local Republicans have succeeded in securing similar appearances in the Memphis area by McCain.
Specifics will be supplied when the Flyer has confirmed them.
