Is my timing great or what? The morning of the most high-profile Grizzlies game of the year — an already sold-out game against the Miami Heat — I will be boarding a plane to Minnesota for a Thanksgiving-week family trip.
Needless to say, I didn’t take a close look at the Grizzlies schedule when I gave my wife the go-ahead to get plane tickets.
So, Beyond the Arc will be on hiatus for the next week. I’ll be missing the next three home games, against Miami, Detroit, and Golden State, but will be back up in time for the team’s always-entertaining meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers on November 30th.
Perhaps when I return, the Grizzlies season will have gotten off life support. Or, given past history — when Hubie Brown quit, Mike Fratello was fired, and Marc Iavaroni was hired I happened to be in Minnesota with my in-laws — maybe something dramatic will happen.
In any event, barring the unexpected, this space will likely be dormant for the next week.
