🏠 Re-Opening of the Mallory-Neely House

The Mallory-Neely House is back, baby! So go be nosy and take a tour of the house this weekend (or any upcoming weekend) at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $16.

Some people like to read their movies, and some people like to visually consume their books. And for those people, we suggest graphic novels, like those illustrated by Memphis-based Liana Kangas. Kangas, for their part, is celebrating the launch of their recently released Mariko Between Worlds and will also sign their other illustrated books. 🎨 Broad Ave Art Walk 2023
Broad Avenue Arts District
Saturday, November 4, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Broad Avenue hosts another fun-filled and free fall festival, complete with more than 50 local artists and makers,  a kids craft area, and fun activities such as live screen printing and aerial arts. Drink and food available for purchase. Admission is free.

The Memphis Japan Festival is a fun, family-friendly, interactive, and hands-on experience of Japanese culture. The day includes traditional and contemporary Japanese music and dance, martial arts demonstrations, cultural lectures, arts and crafts, and so much more. Included in garden admission. 

🧀 Memphis Grilled Cheese Fest

Sunday, November 5, noon-4 p.m.
We know you’ll be cheesing at the Memphis Grilled Cheese Festival, where restaurants and cheese fans from all over Memphis will serve up bits of cheesy and gooey bites for your tasting pleasure. Sample grilled cheese goodness, both large and small made by local chefs, participating restaurants, and natural-born cheese lovers in an array of styles, and vote for your favorites. The festival will also have live music, a kids zone, an adult game zone, and an eating competition (sign up here). Tickets are $5 and benefit THRIVE Memphis. Abe Goodman Golf Clubhouse

Wind down from the workday by learning something new over drinks. Steve Reichling from the Memphis Zoo’s conservation and research department will share his unique perspective on the conservation of critically endangered species — during a happy hour at the Abe Goodman Golf Clubhouse. All are welcome; no previous science knowledge required, but registration is (register here). The suggested donation to attend is $5. The next Science Café is on December 5th and will touch on the evolutionary and physiological ecology of insects.
