A Nashville cab driver says state senator Ophelia Ford assaulted him in his vehicle this week, according to a Metropolitan Nashville Police Department report obtained by the Flyer.
The incident occurred Tuesday night in downtown Nashville near the Wildhorse Saloon at Church Street and Second Avenue. Cab driver Habib Hashi filed the complaint with police.
Victim stated that the suspect was intoxicated and was brought out to the cab under a blanket to keep the media from seeing her, the report says. Victim stated that the suspect grabbed the collar of his shirt from behind and pulled it back, tearing a buttom off of the shirt.
Another woman in the cab pried Fords hands off the driver, according to the report, and the driver then took the women to a Holiday Inn several blocks away.
Victim stated that he found the suspects shoes were left in his cab, the report says. Victim stated that he did not want to prosecute at this time but reserves the right to do so in the future.
